Carrier coverage varies and is dependent on the number used to send text messages. Carrier networks may be accessed by long codes, short codes, or both. Long Codes are 10-digit SMS-enabled phone numbers used for low volume two-way messaging. Short codes are 5- or 6-digit numbers used for high volume SMS.
